7 Sections & Layout

As mentioned before there’s a lot of overlap between the three main resume types in terms of sections. Because the Chronological resume is the most popular format these will be presented in the order they appear on that style, with the Skills and Accomplishments heading that’s used in the Functional and Combination resumes at the end. The order of sections, and how to title them, will depend on the conventions for the industry the position you’re applying for is in and also on your preferences.

The whole purpose here is for you to showcase your skills and abilities in a way that a potential employer will understand. To help you build your resume here are the main sections and how they can look in your resume:
